Arculo (formerly The Royal Welsh Consort of Viols) is an exciting young viol consort founded in Cardiff, in September 2018. Our five members are all alumni of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and through the excellent tutelage of Dr Lucy Robinson, one of the UK’s leading viol specialists, they have built up a large repertoire from the Renaissance and Baroque periods.

Since their formation, the consort has enjoyed a number of performance opportunities. They have received coaching from some of the world’s top viol players, including Reiko Ichise, Vittorio Ghielmi, Dr. Sam Stadlen, and Sarah Cunningham. The consort has also performed many concerts and evensongs around the UK, most notably at Lichfield, Gloucester and Llandaff Cathedrals.

For evening concerts and and lunchtime recitals, the consort has a multitude of programs at their disposal and have the ability to tailor performances to a more family oriented setting.

For private functions such as weddings, the consort can arrange music requests for the event.
